WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN LEATHER JACKET POSSIBLY FOR
AERO TROOPS, A FELDMUTZE & BELT. This WWI German group includes a black leather jacket with heavy black wool collar. The double-breasted jacket has 2 rows of 6 plain silvered buttons and a similar button on each lower flap pocket. The rear of the coat has 4 similar buttons and 2 silvered belt clips. The shoulder boards appear to be dark dull green leather with large brass script letter K’s. The feldmutze has a field green crown with black band and is piped in red. There is a sew-on National & Prussian cockade on the front. The visor & chinstrap have a dark dull green finish with the underside of the visor being black. The lining is a cream-colored cotton and the crown has an illegible ink stamp. Also included is a brown leather belt with WWI enlisted belt buckle having a crown central motif and the words “GOTT MIT UNS”. There is a small black leather pouch attached to the belt. CONDITION: coat shows light overall wear with some finish loss at the bottom seam. Hat shows light to moderate overall wear, as does the belt & pouch.
