This is a very fine example of the 1914 Military pattern, WWI Luger as used by all German forces. These pistols have an all rust blued finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the barrel extension is dated 1916 and the front toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. Visible numbers match. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear section of the barrel, left side of the breechblock and right side of the barrel extension. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips, and it has fixed sights, with the stock lug on the back strap. It is complete with the correct nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/ straw color
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 8343l
Condition: Very fine with 90% plus of the original blue finish with minor spotting and high spot wear overall. The various small parts retain 40% of their straw colors except for the matching serialized trigger which has a dull dark tarnished finish overall. The grips are excellent with nice sharp checkering overall with just some minor wear across the tops of the checkering on the back edges, from normal holding and handling. It has all matching numbers, to include the grips, except for the magazine which has been renumbered to match the pistol. Mechanically excellent. A very nice example of a WWI DWM Luger pistol.
