W. J. Jeffery, London, big-game bolt-action sporting rifle on Mauser action, in .404 express caliber. Serial #28116 on barrel. Shows quick detachable mounts with Leopold 3-power scope. The barrel shows an African type rib with iron sights, and the rifle is nicely stocked in select grained walnut with a hard-rubber recoil pad, and the floorplate is engraved “404 nitro rimless” with serial “28116”. The rifle shows a premium restoration and restocking by a master gunsmith, possibly English done. The rifle retains 98-99%. The satin finish walnut stocks are excellent as replaced, and the rifle shows QD sling swivel eyelets. The rifle measures 13-3/4” to the end of the wood, 14-3/4” to the end of the hard-rubber old-English recoil pad. The action is good, the bore is very good. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
