'de LUXE' Cased & engraved custom bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .333 Jeffery, built utilizing a single square bridge Mauser magnum action circa 1959. Configuration: Blued finish, 24" tapered barrel with quarter rib fitted with one standing & two folding leaf express sights, ramped & hooded blade front sight with gold bead & flip-up glooming sight, smooth trigger, scope clearance two-position safety, engine turned extractor & follower, swept back bolt handle with single panel teardrop knurling on the knob, internal box magazine with hinged floorplate, Mauser singe square bridge magnum length action with thumb cut, sling eyes, and fleur-de-lis pattern hand checkered select walnut pistol grip shoulder stock with horn forend cap featuring a circular moth-of-pearl inlay, raised comb, beaded right handed cheek piece, case hardened trapdoor grip cap containing a spare front sight, inlayed gold oval escutcheon & leather wrapped recoil pad. Barrel is marked "W. J. JEFFERY & Co. 23 CONDUIT ST. LONDON." & "40513". The Mauser number 95117 is found full or in part on the receiver, sear, triggerguard, floorplate and bolt release. Includes a factory leather wrapped locking trunk case with label and partitioned interior lined in maroon felt. The label reads "W. J. Jeffery & Co. Ltd./ Manufacturers of/ GUNS, RIFLES & CARTRIDGES/ 23, CONDUIT STREET,/LONDON, W.1./ This .333 JEFFERY de LUXE/ rifle No. 40513 made in 1959/ Specially for Mr. W. B. Williams." Case contains 40 rounds of Kynoch ammunition, a leather sling & Parker Hale branded cleaning paraphernalia. Also includes a leather piped heavy brown canvas case cover with "W.B.W." branded on a leather patch. Rifle exhibits approximately 80% of it's blued finish showing thinning with a slight plum color. Action is smooth, the bore is pristine, markings are clear and the satin finished wood stock is very good with a small loss near the rear of the receiver.
