This an exceedingly rare and important Virginia City, Montana gold mine ore bucket. The excellent piece dates to the early to mid 19th century during the Montana Territory era. The bucket was pulled directly for one of the mines. The ore bucket is truly a Museum quality piece, with correct patina for its age. This is the only bucket known to survive from this era. The piece is in good condition for its age showing some wood loss. Measures: 38" H x 20" W. From a private Bozeman, Montana collection, verified to have been recovered from a Virginia City, Mine.
