Vintage Crockett Vaquero Silver Mounted Bridle
This is an original vintage Pre-1951 Crockett Vaquero Sterling Silver mounted horse bit with early silver studded tacked leather headstall. This piece is only marked Crockett and pre-dates the Crockett purchase by Renalde in 1951. For example this bit, or a variation of it was listed in the Crockett Renalde Catalog #53 Catalog, which is shown in the photo gallery of the item. Noted in the Crockett Catalog as a “7” Cheeks No. 1620 as shown each 37.50 / With Spade Mouth piece each 40.00”. The piece is marked on the inside, “CROCKETT” and “STAINLESS”. The bit is covered on the cheeks with a wonderful sterling silver overlay that has been beautifully hand engraved, The slobber bar is also covered in sterling silver overlay and engraved. The spots are a large 2 inch domed concho on both sides and the slobber bar also has three raised conchos. The headstall bridle is classic early 1900 to 1940’s cowboy leather piece which is covered in silver spots, likely a nickel silver concho or tack covering the outsides and browband. There are also two larger nickel silver spots at the cheeks with large nickel covered buckles and at the top. Truly a great rig. The bit measures about 8.5” by 6.25” by 2”. The bridle itself is about 29”L.
