Very rare rim-fire cartridge revolver with brass frame in .32 caliber attributed to James Reid, serial number 5 with many unique and interesting variations. The revolver measures 7 7/8” overall with a 3” barrel and six shot cylinder. The center pin is released by a spring latch mounted on the right side that enables the cylinder to be removed for loading. The barrel is unmarked and there are other markings other than the serial number 5 on the back of the cylinder. The revolver differsfrom other James Reid in the fact that it has no loading gate. The condition is good to very good with a gray to brown patina with some minor pitting and erosion. The frame shows a dark unpolished natural brass patina. The grips aregood with some wear at the edges, small losses and normal aging. The action. A very interesting American revolver which is most similar to James Reid who was famous for his knuckle dusters and this revolver may be researchable through hispatent drawings. Est.: $400-$800+
