Very interesting Bowie style knife by W. Richardson, approx. 14” overall with an approx. 8-3/4” blade showing medium patina, small upturned/downturned guard, lovely round stag grip with iron round “button” pommel;accompanied by a fitted leather scabbard with metal throat and tip in overall good condition. There is a monogram etched into one side of the throat and the initials “W.C.C.” on the other side of the throat;affixed to the stag grip is a plain unadorned silver shield. Accompanying this item is documentation from well-known English knife dealer David Johnstone describing this piece and indicating the knife was originallypurchased by Michael Long of Trident Arms, of Nottingham, England, from an English descendant of a W.C. Claybourne who claimed her relation had worked for the Abilene-Hays City-Kansas City & Missouri (Railroad) andhad been a “colleague of the Clantons of OK Corral notoriety”. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
