The Minneapolis Palm Pistol is smaller than its similar counterpart, the Chicago Palm Pistol. Only seven shots are held in the revolving turret. The center fire cartridge is less than 1/2 inch long. There is no rubber pad on the plunger, the barrel is half octagon and the side plates are pearl with a carved floral design. The removable side plates are marked "THE PROTECTOR/MINN. FIRE ARMS CO." on one side and the opposite side is marked "PATENTED/MARCH 6, 1893 **". All numbers match. The system for holding the side plate is different. The Minneapolis has a butterfly key on the frame that fits in a corresponding slot in the plate. The safety on the rear of the frame rotates to engage the pin on the rotating bar, preventing any further advance.
