The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, and ivory stocks with carved steer head motif. The revolver was factory documented as being sold to Frank Beers (address unavailable) and shipped to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on September 5, 1901 as part of a one gun shipment. Part of the already scarce Flattop Target Bisley series, only 131 were produced in this caliber (32 WCF). The revolver has the correct drift adjustable rear sight and pinned blade front sight. The top of the barrel has the one line Hartford address and the left side of the barrel is marked "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." The left side of the frame is stamped with the two line, three date patent marking followed by a circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial number on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "382" on the loading gate. As stated the revolver has ivory grips with a carved steer head on the right panel. The back of the right panel is hand marked "F. BEERS 1902".

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown-gray patina. The slightly undersized grips are fine with a number of hairline age cracks. The ivory has an attractive color and grain pattern. Mechanically excellent. When have you seen one of these?!?
