Estimate: $3500 - 5500
Manufactured from 1856 to 1859 with a total production of about 250, of which 100 were made for the Ordnance Department. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line Savage address/North patent date. This is the Second Type of the First Model with the rounded brass frame and each chamber chamfered to fit over the rear of the barrel. Removal of the grip reveals the number "82" stamped on the right panel. The revolver is all nickel finished and is fitted with smooth walnut grips.
BBL: 7 1/8 inch octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 36 percussion
Finish: nickel
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Very good as period re-plated with a smooth silver gray on the barrel and loading lever. The remaining surfaces retain most of the nickel finish with scattered flaking on the frame and grip straps, with an aged patina on the exposed brass. The grips are very fine with a very small chip on each toe and a few minor dents and handling marks. The action functions fine, but has a spring with the revolver that needs to be put.
