Half-moon German silver front sight and hammer notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked "+COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG.Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A./ No 1+", and the underside has the serial number. The frame has some light scroll engraving and a checkered spur trigger and hammer. The grip area is solid steel, with shallow checkering on the sides, deep, sharp checkering on the back strap, and the serial number repeated on the butt. This was the first single shot pistol that Colt produced. Approximately 6,500 were made.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 75% original thinning blue showing wear along the high edge. The frame retains 85% of the silver plating with all of the loss isolated to the left side. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
