Manufactured in 1862. The revolver has a three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock and is marked "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side. The barrel has the one line New York address and the cylinder has the navy scene. The "6" in the barrel and frame serial number (51165) has been restamped. There are single letter inspector marks on most of the components. Both sides of the grip have a clear and crisp cartouche.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 40% original blue finish, mostly on the protected areas of the lug and underside and the back strap retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The cylinder retains most of the roll engraved scene and 20% of original blue finish remaining in the rebated area with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains 60% of original case colors. The brass is fine. The slightly undersized grips are very fine with excellent cartouches and a couple small slivers of wood missing on the forward lower corners. Mechanically fine.
