This is a very early circa 1750-1770 example of pre revolution Seglas made flintlock pistol. Israel Seglas was a Huguenot who came to England from France in the early 1700's to escape religious persecution and became a well respected English gun maker. He took with him and imported French gun parts of which he made some of his earlier guns. This is one of his earlier works made with French components. Light floral engraved early brass banana lock marked "G. BAVDVIN" in a banner. The barrel does not have English proofs but is marked "SEGLAS LONDON". Brass fancy floral chiseled buttcap, trigger guard and side plate. Full length stock with horn forend cap and carving around upper tang.
