Manufactured from 1881 to 1913 with a total production of 53,590. The serial number on this revolver would indicate very early production in 1881. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, cylinder, barrel and latch. Pinned blade front and notch rear sights, nickel finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, blue trigger guard and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the patent date on the lower left side and S&W monogram at the top.

Condition:
Very fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish with some scattered very minor flaking and a small area of pin prick type pitting on the right side of the frame. The trigger guard retains 98% original blue finish with some edge wear and a few minor dings and scratches. The hammer and trigger retain almost all of the original bright case colors. The grips are excellent with light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
