DIANA GRADE BROADWAY TRAP SHOTGUN WITH 32" BBLS. ENGRAVED BY G. CARGNEL & CASE. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 54878S6. Mfg. 1966. Bbls. 32" w/ ventilated "Broadway" rib mounted w/ ivory beads. Top bbl. marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY" on left & w/ gauge, chamber & patent information along w/ "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right. Breech section w/ bold scroll engraving on bolsters marked for modified & full chokes. Coin finished superposed action w/ gold plated single selective trigger engraved in usual "Diana" style w/ background of semi-relief lg. foliate scroll w/ strapwork highlights surrounding game scenes. A nye of 5 pheasant in woodlands are on left side & 4 ducks in marsh scene are on right. Two quail fly across bottom of action & a pair of rabbits are on trigger guard bow. The quality of work & shading is above average & engravers signature, the noted G. Cargnel, is on left side, bottom right of scene. Long tang square knob buttstock of very attractive crotch figured American walnut measures 14 1/2" over brown Browning "Whiteline" trap pad. Closely spaced point pattern checkering w/ line borders wraps over top of grip. Rounded semi beavertail forend matches very well. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: bore diameter: T .726, B .722. Restriction: T .039 (EXTRA FULL), B .025 (MOD). STOCK: LOP: 14 1/2". DAC: 1 1/4". DAH: 1 5/8". Cast: 0. WEIGHT: 8 lbs. 7 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: housed in brown vinyl Browning case lined in dark brown fuzzy fur. Case contains guarantee certificate for this gun & 2 keys in gold vinyl pouch. CONDITION: exceptionally fine, appears essentially unfired since proof w/ only 1 or 2 minor handling & assembly marks on all original wood & metal surfaces. There is minimal crazing of stock finish w/ only 1 or 2 lines on side panels & some lifting in grain on right side of butt. Checkering is still light in color w/ very little wear. There are some missing diamonds on left side of forend due to grain weakness of fancy wood. Bright shiny bores have no visible problems. Mechanically crisp. Case is also very fine w/ some light rubs on exterior, interior w/ some compressions. Guns in this original condition are increasingly hard to find & this configuration is gaining popularity for use as sporting clays guns. (21-227/MGM). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
