V-Spring powder tester, 18th century, measuring approx. 8” from end to end, cast brass firing tube with touch hole, steel body with hand-engraved decorations. Signed “Eprouvette Du C__ Regnior”. The metalsurfaces show some light to slightly heavy erosion and pinprick pitting, generally good overall. Signature is barely visible. A scarce powder tester marked “Eprouvette”.
