The company was originally established in 1895 at the Upper Hanley Works, and then moved to the Brownfield’s Works in Cobridge in 1902. The company became incorporated in 1900, and the letters ‘LTD’ were added to the mark. However, the business was wound up in February 1906 1. Grimwades bought the rights to the trade name ‘Upper Hanley Pottery’ and continued to produce ware with this name until c.1911 1.
