Unusual single shot cartridge rifle inlaid H. Larsen, Drammen on top of barrel along with patent and steel written in German. The action is a falling block released by a lever mounted on the right side of frame and secured by a spring latch. The rifle is a proximately 12.5 mm rim-fire. The rifle measures 46” overall with 27” round barrel. The frame is lightly engraved in a scroll motif. The stock is fancifully carved with oversized pistol grip and shows a large single set trigger. The barrel is made with a graduating military style rear sight with a matching front sight. The barrel shows 50% to 70% original blue that is evenly toning. The frame has gone to a gray with a trace of original case hardening and some beginning light erosion and pitting. The stock is good with some even wear and small losses near the toe of the butt plate. This rifle was obtained by Gale Kennedy from descents of Nebraska ranchers that were personal friends of Buffalo Bill Cody and he had gifted them this rifle that he obviously obtained in Europe where he was the number 1 showman at the time this rifle was manufactured in the late 1870s.
