Unusual flintlock eprouvette or powder-tester circa early to mid 18th century, metal grip, outside spring on frizzen showing signature on top of metal grip of which “Gale” is visible. The metal grip shows traces of fineengraving. The metal surfaces show some light to slightly heavy pitting and erosion. Small parts are all retained. The wheel shows hand-engraved numbers. A good early piece that has similarities in design to Queen Anne era English and Scottish arms. From the Keith Coulter collection. Est: $1,000 - $2,000
