Unusual French made for sale in U.S. market 19th century type Malitia officer’s sword with brass mountings and American Eagle and shield at center portion of scabbard. The sword measures 32 ¼” with a 28” blade that is shortened about a 1 ½” to 2“. The cross guard and handle are of similar to a hunting sword with an S-shaped guard and probably a chain or bow that has been reduced slightly. The grip is grooved wood and the overall condition is fair with dents in the scabbard and polished andsome-what worn blade. Est.: $275-$550
