Unusual Fraternal sword with cast statue hilt showing George Washington holding banner which forms the guard. The guard is nickeled over brass, and the scabbard is nickel plated. The blade is etched and signed "C.A. Hart & Co. Philadelphia", and shows a scene of a Medieval knight charging mid-eastern warrior with sword, with a mid-eastern background. The blade shows some pitting and erosion and is good with nearlyall of its etching. The scabbard and hilt show 90% nickel with some losses on the gripping area. A very attractive sword that was probably made for a patriotic lodge in the Philadelphia area during the 19thcentury. Very unusual with statue hilt. Est.: $350-$700
