Blade front and notch rear sight. The breech has the third production type marking bearing the date 1837: "J.H. HALL / US / 1837". The breech catch is the proper "trigger" design with the extended pistol grip trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with flat buttplate, sling swivels, and the letter "V" stamped behind the trigger guard. Complete with an iron ramrod. Produced at the Harpers Ferry Armory, the Model 1819 was the U.S. Army's first breech loading long arm produced in large quantities, as well as the first successful arm with fully interchangeable parts.

The stock is excellent with a few minor handling marks and storage pressure dents (The most noticeable of which is a two inch indentation on belly of stock) otherwise excellent plus. Mechanically sound.
