Unique, possibly experimental, Remington Rolling Block carbine with integral bayonet lug on right side of barrel, .44 cal., 20-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, sling swivels, woodstocks, patent address on upper tang, no visible serial number; accompanied by a brass handled saber bayonet with slightly curved blade approx. 22-1/2” long and a leather trimmed canvas soft case inked “Dr. Belisario D Romero. La Paz”. This lot is also accompanied by copies of pages from the Oct. 29, 1980 Richard A. Bourne Auction of the famous Karl F. Moldenhauer collection of Remington Arms of which this was Lot #338 inthe sale. The gun is in overall fine to near excellent condition showing the majority of its original blue finish on the barrel and the majority of its original case colors on the receiver; the action is crisp, the borefine and the markings sharp; the wood is overall fine; a rare find and deserving of further research into the background of Dr. Romero.
