Unique Metal and Bone Construction Kama with Folding Blade
Starting life as a farm implement, the kama was adopted as a weapon by practitioners of Karate, Silat, and some Chinese forms. The shaft measures 13 1/2" long, with the blade 5 1/2" in length, single edged with filework on the spine and bronze dot inlays with punch dot accents. Hinged at the top of the shaft, the blade is locked in place by a spring loaded catch on the rear of the shaft, which has engraved brass accent plates on the sides. Grip section is bone, with dot and geometric line engraving and engraved brass collars. OAL: 13 1/2"

Condition: Very good. Mild pitting is visible on the blade, along with a mixed gray patina. A brown patina is visible on the shaft hardware, with the accent plates showing mild dings. Grip is good, with a crack on one side and some visible solder on the brass.
