Unique Inscribed Mariette System Pepperbox Revolver with Engraved Frame, Unique Dagger Bayonet and S
Active circa 1832 - 1865, Gilles Mariette produced pepperbox weapons, as well as pinfire revolvers. 6 Barrels, each finished in a Damascus pattern with 4 groove rifling, numbered 1 through 6 to match the breech area, which has heavy nipple shields, one of which bears the Liege "E/ LG/ star" proof. 14 1/2 inches overall in length. Underbarrel ring trigger action, with mobile shield designed to reduce the possibility of a chain fire. Mounted within the barrels, in the location of the axis screw, with a triangular dagger, extending 5" past the muzzles. The frame shows fine scroll and border engraving, with "W.B. Promoli" inscribed behind the trigger and a pair of smooth ebony grips.
