The top of the rib barrel is marked "JOHN CHILDS PATENT ELEVATED RIFLE TUBULAR RIB". The left side rear of the rib barrel is marked with three British proofs and 2 "96"s, and the underside is marked with 4 proofs and 2 "15"s. The shotgun barrels gauge at 12 and the rifle barrel slightly over 9mm. Fixed sights, lightly floral scroll engraved locks, hammers, trigger guard, finial and tangs. The lower tang is marked "20" behind the trigger guard. Double triggers and mounted with a checkered walnut straight grip half stock with a steel buttplate with extended tang, with light floral scroll engraving and marked "20". Complete with a brass tipped wooden ramrod.

Condition: Very good. The barrels have a smooth brown patina with some of the Damascus pattern showing and a small area of minor pitting on the right side front. The hammers and locks have a smooth brown and dark brown patina. The stock is excellent with a few scattered minor dings and dents, with crisp checkering. The rib barrel markings are readable, the engraving is clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
