This is an excellent example of a Walther Model PP pistol with the unique satin nickel finish. This appears to be the earliest known plated pistol produced by Walther. As the Verchromt finish pistols appear later in production (and usually PPKs). The pistol has checkered black plastic grips with the Walther banner at the top. The magazine has a red plastic finger extension with satin nickel finish on the metal runner, which is correct for the early verchromt finished pistols and the magazine is the correct First Type and is marked with the Walther banner on the lower left side. The right side of the slide, barrel muzzle and frame are marked with the pre-war commercial "crown/N" proofmark, the serial number is marked on the right side of the frame behind the trigger and the left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner followed "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther Patent Cat. 7.65 mm" and "Mod. PP". Fixed sights and 90 degree safety lever.
BBL: 3 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 7.65 mm auto
Finish: nickel
Grips: plastic
Serial Number: 752589
Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original verchromt finish, with some minor wear on the forward edges of the slide, some normal usage wear on the rear sides of the frame and overall some scattered minor scratches and scuffs. There is some flaking of the finish on the hammer face. The grips are excellent with only a couple of minor dings and sharp checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
