Under hammer percussion buggy type rifle marked “D.H. Hilliard, Cornish, N.H.” The rifle measures 32-1/2” overall with 16” barrel of approx 41 cal, serial #80 stamped on top of muzzle and #36 on (2) places onaction. The metal surfaces show a gray to brown patina with some light to moderate pitting and erosion. The stock has been badly broken and repaired. The right side of the stock shows an eagle shaped inlay thatwas never engraved. The lock is working. The sights are original. There are some losses of wood. Fair only and needs a better restoration to stock as this was a old repair done by an amateur. From an old NewYork collector’s estate. Est.;$350-$700.
