Ultra rare .44 caliber percussion Dragoon size Confederate revolver by Tucker and Sherrard of Lancaster, Texas, serial number 106. This exact revolver is pictured as a two-page header for the section on Tucker and Sherrard in the bookentitled “Confederate Revolvers” by William A. Gary. In this book Mr. Gary mentions that serial number 23,103,106 and 129 are the only absolutely authentic specimens that he could authenticate in 70 years of collecting. The Tucker Sherrardclosely resembles a 2nd model Colt Dragoon except there is no cut out for loading on the right side of the barrel lug. This revolver remains in good to very good condition showing a gray patina finish with some scattered light to moderatepitting and erosion with still fairly sharp edges and good metal surfaces. The trigger guard has been broken and repaired just behind the grip screws. Grips are good with considerable original varnish and a small repair at the left front toewith some losses around the edges and are slightly undersized against the frame. All major parts are serial numbered and matching with no other visible markings. The action works well and the bore is fair to good showing use (Refer Flayderman
