US model 1836 flintlock pistol by R. Johnson, dated 1842, in original fine to excellent condition. The wood stock shows two excellent cartouches “JCB” and “WAT”. One bump at edge beneath sideplate. A couple of minor marksfrom storage and handling, the stock near excellent, the lock is in its original flintlock configuration with correct topjaw and screw. Shows traces of quenched type arsenal colors. The barrel and mounts showmost of their original arsenal bright with just some bright erosion and pinprick pitting on the sideplate and band. A strong 9+ on 1-10 scale with exceptional wood. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
