US model 1816 martial flintlock pistol, .54 caliber, by S. North. With early lock markings, in good untouched original condition. The metal surfaces show a dark brown patina with some scattered light toslightly heavy surface pitting. The heavier areas of pitting are small and mostly on top of barrel and point at rear of lock. The lock markings are good and fully visible, just slightly light on the eagle. The stock isgood with some small chips missing at rear of lock, some other minor dings, mars, small losses, but generally good overall. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration with proper small parts. Theleft sideplate shows period stamping, “RC 711” and a large “RC” by front screw. The pistol retains an original to the period hickory rod. An honest untouched example with some interesting markings. From an old Texas collection. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
