For bidding in this lot is a scarce, and original World War 2 - Robeson Shuredge Mk 2 United States Navy, fighting knife, including the original leather U.S.N. scabbard. The knife shows a prominent drop-point blade, marked "U.S.N." on the left side of the ricasso, and "Robeson Shuredge" on the reverse side. Additionally, the piece utilizes a down turned guard, with a wooden support underneath. The grip of the knife is composed of stacked leather rings, and finished with a circular steel pommel. The scabbard of the knife is constructed of thick leather, and uses a sturdy belt loop, and a brass snap closure. The scabbard is marked "U.S.N." near the opening, and "BOYT -43-" underneath the snap closure. The set is in good condition overall, the blade shows some light pitting, and warm patina - the leather of the scabbard, and on the grips show some light wear from period use. The knife has a 6 3/4" blade, and measures 11 7/8" long, and 2 3/8" wide overall.
