US Model 1842, .54 caliber percussion pistol by H. Aston, dated 1847 during Mexican war. The metal surfaces are in good condition with barrel showing light patina with some staining, erosion, scattered light tomoderate pitting. The lockplate and hammer show a dark patina with traces of original colors and good markings and some slight erosion and normal aging. The stock is good to very good with a couple of slight cracks,strong traces of cartouche on left side, some minor nicks, mars, small losses. The action is good, original ramrod and keeper are retained. A good specimen. Est: $800 - $1,600
