US Model 1816, .69 caliber flintlock musket, dated 1819 by Springfield Armory. Grey to brown patina finish in good overall condition. Lock shows some light to heavy pitting, and there is an area of heavypitting at the breech of the barrel or a forging flaw in the barrel itself where metal is missing. The lock markings and eagle are mostly visible. The rear of the barrel is inletted in sight which is missing. The stock shows a mostly visible cartouche and the initials “NA” carved into the buttstock, probably the soldier’s ID. The forend shows some dings, mars, and losses. The gun is in its original flintlock configuration withcorrect small parts. A correct to the period ramrod is included, also with correct bands. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
