US 1850 Officer’s Sword with imported blade, original scabbard, belt with hangars, belonging to Captain H. C. Risdon New Jersey Volunteers, with GAR period officer’s kepi, captains epilates, inscribed cigar case, officer’s sash. The sword is in good condition, blade nicely etched, showing most original polish, some pitting, good grip, traces of gold gilt. Some light to heavy pitting on body of metal scabbard. The belt is good with good buckle. The belt shows an added leather tab behind the buckle which identifies the owner. Along with a GAR kepi with “26” Regt insignia, in very good condition, a high quality woven wool blanket with initials H.C.R. stitched, showing some losses and normal aging. A scarlet colored sword sash in good condition, a large cigar case of high quality leather with “Henry C. Risdon, Mt. Holly, NJ”, captain’s epilates. This ensemble was sold by Little John’s in the early 1990’s and had come to us from an agent for the original heir Est: $3,000 - $6,000
