Document archive of United States Navy Captain William Faulkner Amsden. Documents include two certificate from the Naval War College dated 1924 and 1929. One 1920 letter stating the Amsden was promoted Lieutenant commander in 1919.One 1908 Domain of Neptunus Rex certificate for the USS Minnesota named to Midshipman W. F. Amsden. A 1941 certificate appointing Amsden Admiral of the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska. Two 1941 letters between Amsden and Chief Admiral Metcalfe about the appointment to the Great Navy of the state of Nebraska. A 1932 Arrowhead Villas acceptance letter. Amsden was born September 8, 1884 in Wshington, D.C. He graduated from the Naval Academy in Kansas in 1907. Amsden for st served on the USS Minnesota in 1908 and the USS Severn in 1909 in connection with the rifle team. He then served on the USS Milwaukee, USS Vicksburg, USS Hartford, and the USS Castine. During WWI, Amsden commanded the destroyer Barry with the Asiatic Fleet. Amsden earned the Navy Cross during this service later commanding the Balch as well. After WWI, Amsden was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. Amsdden Commanded the destroyers Laub and Graham. He wet on to command the Billinsly in 1922 and served as Executive Officer at the Naval Training Station in Newport, Rhode Island. Amsden was then promoted to the rank of Commander going on to command the destroyer Smith Thompson. Promoted to Captain in 1935, he commanded the heavy cruiser Quincy and was Captain of the Yard at Portsmouth Navy Yard from 1938 to 1941 when he retired. Captain Amsden passed away on October 21, 1979.

BIDDING
Bidding advances shall be regulated by the auctioneer and shall be at his discretion. He or she has the right to refuse any bids. Some of the items offered at auction are subject to a reserve. A reserve is a minimum price agreed upon by the consignor of the property and the auction house. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of the consignor in order to reach the minimum sale amount. If the minimum amount is not reached, the auctioneer may pass the item. The auctioneer reserves the right to bid on behalf of clients and vendors, but shall not be liable for errors or omissions in executing instructions to bid. All bidders are required to complete the registration and obtain a bidder number. All registration cards contain the full name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. Absentee bids may be left via our website, or at our store location. Absentee bidders agree to all terms and conditions. PAYMENT

If an invoice remains unpaid for longer than this time, the item(s) will be considered forfeited and ownership of property will revert back to Affiliated Auctions. When bidding through Proxibid.com, the stored payment method will be automatically processed at the end of the auction.
