U.S. percussion musket by Remington, commonly referred to as a “Zouave”, .58 cal., 33” barrel with bayonet lug on right side toward muzzle, blue and case hardened finish, brass mountings including patchbox with extranipple, sling swivels, both lock plate and barrel dated 1863. This gun is in overall fine uncleaned condition showing the majority of its original blue finish on the barrel and the majority of case colors on the lockplate; fine bore, action, markings and wood stock with two sharp inspector cartouches on the left side above the trigger assembly; barrel also proofed and inspected at the breech; a really nice example of this CivilWar era rifle.
