U.S. model 1896 Krag rifle by Springfield Armory, .30-40 caliber, serial #56397 with bayonet dated 1901 and fine original sling. The gun remains in very good plus to near fine condition with 50-70% thinning andtoning blue finish, strong quenched case hardened finish on sideplate and loading door. Stocks are also very good plus with just a couple of minor storage marks, good “P” cartouche on triggerguard, no cartoucheon left side of stock. The edges and markings are sharp. The 1901 dated bayonet is good, the 1902 dated sling is near fine. The action is crisp, the bore near excellent. Est: $800 - $1,600
