This U.S. Model 1911A1 Automatic Pistol was manufactured by Remington Rand, Inc., of Syracuse, New York in 1943. The mainspring housing has eight ribs. The Ordnance escutcheon is stamped on the right side of the receiver behind the stock. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/ NO. 1548305" is stamped in two lines behind the slide stop hole. "M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY" is roll-stamped on the receiver in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection mark "FJA" below the slide stop and a "P" proof mark behind the magazine release. The top of the slide is stamped with a "P" proof in front of the rear sight and the 2nd style marking: "REMINGTON RAND INC./ SYRACUSE, N.Y.U.S.A." is roll-stamped on the left side of the slide. The High Standard barrel is marked "H.S." on the right side of the lug and has a "P" proof mark on the left side. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have reinforcing rings around the screw holes, interior strengthening ribs and mold numbers and a five-pointed star on the inside. The full blue magazine has a "G" (General Shaver Division of Remington Rand) stamped on the top of the floor plate lip.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% plus of the original parkerized finish and has all of the proper components. The barrel has about 90% of the blue finish. The stocks are in excellent condition. The magazine has 98% of the original blue finish. The markings on the slide and receiver are sharp. This is an excellent original example of a 1943 production Remington Rand M1911A1 Pistol.
