Manufactured circa 1920 Two line address on the left side of the barrel, "22 SHORT" on the left rear, replacement globe front and replacement Lyman receiver mounted peep sight. Directly behind the hammer is marked with "US/ordnance bomb" and the upper tang is marked with the three line trade mark, maker, patent marking. Mounted with a full smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with carbine buttplate and sling swivels. The left wrist is stamped "2D".

Condition: Fine. The rifle retains 65% original blue finish with overall thinning and areas of brown patina on the barrel, and some flaking and bright edge wear on the receiver. The receiver sight base has a smooth gray and brown patina. The lever retains 20% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The buttplate has a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is very good with numerous small pressure dent on the stock, a few gouges on the forearm, and overall minor dents. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
