U.S. Springfield flintlock military rifle, .69 cal., 42” barrel, bright finish, three barrel bands, two sling swivels, lock plate dated 1842 with barrel dated 1843, full wood stock. This gun is in overall good condition showing a brown patina and scattered points of erosion on the barrel, good action, well-marked lock plate; wood stock is overall good with some scattered nicks, mars and old rail losses, visible outline of inspector’s cartouche on left side of stock above the trigger assembly; flared iron ramrod; bayonet is in overall fair condition with “4 9” stamped at the base of the triangular blade; is loose on this barrel and likely for another model of flintlock rifle. Est.: $1,200-$1,600.
