Early National Match rifle that still retains the National Match star gauged barrel. The barrel is marked "S A/flaming bomb/3-24" and has the star gauge number under the handguard and star proof on the muzzle. It has a fixed front sight, ladder rear sight and a Lyman fully adjustable rear peep sight installed on the right side of the receiver. The bolt is an unnumbered polished National Match style. Mounted on an uncartouched "C" style walnut pistol grip stock with "D1836" proof on the lower buttstock.

Condition: Very fine, with 90% original pre-war blue/black parkerized finish with some wear along the barrel and high edges. The trigger guard floor plate is reparkerized. The reoiled later production 03A1 replacement stock and WWI era handguard are both fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches.
