Blade front and "R" marked Buffington rear sights, with the rear of the barrel marked "A" on top and "V / P / eagle head / P" on the upper left. Low-arch breechblock, marked "US / MODEL / 1884", with the eagle/shield motif next to "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" on the lock plate. Smooth straight grip stock, with two "U" marked barrel bands, faint SWP/1889 cartouche, and a "US" marked buttplate. With cleaning rod and leather sling. Complete with a U.S. socket bayonet complete with scabbard and belt hook.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 95% plus original blue finish with the balance a plum patina with some minor bayonet wear. The letter "W" is deeply scratched on the buttplate. The breechblock and upper tang retain 98% plus original case colors. The stock is also excellent with some minor dings, pressure marks, and scratches along with a couple pressure dents (buttstock) and a couple shallow gouges (forearm underside). The cartouche is crisp and clear. The bayonet is excellent with 97% plus original blue finish remaining. Mechanically excellent.
