U.S. Springfield Model 1879 trapdoor saddle ring carbine, .45-70 cal., 22” barrel, blue finish, wood stock with butt trap including two piece cleaning rod and extractor, #138194. This gun is in overall very goodcondition showing a light grey patina on the barrel; darker plum blue patina on trapdoor, hammer and lock plate, fair bore, crisp action, very good markings including proofs on left side of barrel at breech; very goodwood stock with no visible inspector cartouches and an old repair to the top left wrist area of the butt stock by the upper tang.
