U.S. Springfield Model 1879 trapdoor rifle, .45-70 cal., 32-1/2” barrel, wood stock, #256672. This gun is in overall good condition with a heavy dark patina on metal surfaces, fair bore, good action, overallgood wood with scattered old nicks, mars and losses along the ramrod channel from use and storage; only cartouche is what appears to be a stylized “L” or “T” in an oval on top of the butt stock at the front of the butt plate top piece.
