U.S. Springfield Model 1866 Second Allin Conversion Rifle
The lock plate is dated "1864" behind the hammer and is marked with the eagle/shield motif and "U.S. / Springfield" in front of it. The top of the breechblock is dated 1866 and stamped with an Eagle Head. The left stock flat has a "ESA" script cartouche, with a circled "P" behind the lower tang. Complete with correct ramrod with the knurled and slotted head. Has a Watervliet Arsenal marked leather sling. Included is an incorrect bayonet with leather scabbard.

Condition: Very good plus. A protective coating has been applied to most of the metal surfaces, with the lock having a sliver gray patina. The buttplate has even minor pitting. The stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches, with a few minor gouges. The cartouche is clear. The bayonet is fair with a smooth dark patina and minor pitting. The scabbard has some minor flex wear.
