A fine example of an Indian War refurbished Civil War Model 1860 Spencer Repeating Carbine by Springfield. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with "SPENCER REPEATING-/RIFLE CO. BOSTON MASS./PAT'D MARCH.6. 1860." on top of the frame, with a short saddle ring bar and single letter proofs on a number of parts. Smooth, straight grip stock with an oval cartouche behind the ring bar, a sling swivel on the underside and "W" stamped on the buttplate heel.

Condition: Very fine as Arsenal refurbished, with 75% of the blue finish showing areas of spotting and brown patina, along with mild handling marks. Receiver is also very fine, with 60% of the case colors, fading on the high points and edges. Stock is very good, with chipping on top of the wrist at receiver juncture and dents. Mechanically fine.
