Manufactured from 1817 to 1820 with a total production of about 19,374. The lock plate is marked with the later type marking "S. NORTH (in a downward arch)/U eagle shield motif S/MIDLTN CON. (in an upward arch)", the breech end left side of the barrel is marked "P / US". Brass blade front sight on the barrel band, brass flash pan without a fence and the remaining mountings are iron. The stock extends about 1/2" ahead of the barrel band and the iron back strap extends from the barrel to the buttcap. There is a "JC" stamped on the left flat ahead of the rear lock screw and a clear "LS" oval cartouche on the left flat . With a hickory ramrod with a swelled tip. Comes with a small wooden plaque with "1816 S. NORTH" marked brass plate.

Condition: Very good as in original flintlock configuration with a mottled gray and dark brown patina, with some flash pitting on the breech end of the barrel. The stock is fine with a few scattered minor dents and dings. The cartouche and other subinspectors marks are crisp. The action is fine. A very good representative example of a Simeon North Model 1816 flintlock pistol.
