The receiver on this example was manufactured in 1911. The barrel is marked "S A/flaming bomb/7- 11" behind the standard front sight. The tang in front of the floor plate is stamped "flaming bomb/N.R.A.". The bolt is stamped "J1" on the underside of the safety lug and the trigger is the early smooth version. Mounted on a smooth walnut straight grip stock with 1 reinforcing bolt, a boxed "J.F.C." cartouche, a script circled "P" proof and a fine checkered buttplate. With a leather claw sling.

Fine, 50% of the original blue finish remains with a smooth gray patina, some spots of brown patina and scattered light scratches. The stock is fine with scattered scratches, dings and dents with the cartouche being sharp. Mechanically fine. The sling is good.
